Todd B. Waldo’s more than twenty five years of engineering experience helps executives and their teams develop enterprise wide strategies and systems. As Vice President for The Shockoe Institute, he leads strategy and operations to fulfill their mission to understand the enduring impact of the domestic slave trade on American life through evidence-based scholarship and innovative storytelling.

As Founder and Principal Consultant for Hugh Helen LLC,  he comes alongside executives and their teams for the deep, transformational work that moves organizations forward towards their vision and outcomes building consensus along the way. The result is a strategic system grounded in empathy and affirmed with data.

Also during this time, he’s become an accomplished author, speaker, host and moderator boasting a diverse portfolio of international, national, and local engagements. All of this carries over in his service and advocacy in the Richmond community.  From his class at VCU’s da Vinci Center for Innovation to his nonprofit board service, Todd’s passion is to serve, inspire and entertain.  He serves on the Board of Directors for Better Housing Coalition, The Richmond Forum and Afrikana Institute. He also serves on the VCU School of Engineering Industrial Advisory Board.
